Welcome to the Production and Technical area

Our Technical Theatre and Production Arts students study a broad range of skills in Stage Management, Lighting, and Sound, Scenic art and Construction and Costume. The courses are taught by a staff team who have many years’ experience in professional theatre and education (the stage management tutor has published a book on stage management and sits on the board of the Stage Management Association).

Alongside workshops, projects and productions the course offers exciting master classes in special effects, flying, pyrotechnics, self-employment etc. delivered by a variety of industry professionals. We also organise backstage tours and trips to see professional productions at many of the Scottish repertory and receiving theatres.

We have close contact with most of the Scottish theatres and companies, ensuring challenging and beneficial placements for the HNC and HND students.
